Detailed Itinerary

Day 1 – Entebbe
Your guide will pick you up from the airport and take you to your accommodation for the night to rest. If time permits (depending on your time of arrival), you will then go for a stroll in the botanical garden.

Day 2/ Day 3: Kibale Forest (Chimp tracking) and Crater Lakes
Day 2:
We will leave for Western Uganda early in the morning and arrive at Kibale Forest National Park in the afternoon. Meanwhile, you will see lots of beautiful landscape. After night fall, you will go for a guided nocturnal walk with the opportunity to see night active animals.Chimp lying, Rod Waddington

Day 3:
You will start your day tracking chimpanzees in Kibale Forest. There are 13 species of primates in the forest, with several groups of chimpanzees having been habituated and and ready to be tracked. The walk takes about 3-4 hours, depending on where the groups are on that day.
In the afternoon, we will get time to explore the nearby region that has one of the world’s densest concentrations of volcanic crater lakes. We will walk to the “Top of the World” for a spectacular view of some of the crater lakes and enjoy beautiful nature.

Day 4/ Day 5: Queen Elizabeth National Park
Day 4:
In the morning we will leave the Crater lakes for the wide savannah of Queen Elizabeth National Park.
You will then take a safari boat tour on Kazinga channel in Queen Elizabeth National Park with chances of seeing elephants, hippos, buffalos, waterbucks and crocodiles as well as plenty of different waterbirds along the shore.Savannah in Queen Elizabeth National Park Uganda Sebun Foto

Day 5
Today will be a day of safaris. Very early in the morning we will leave the lodge to start the game drive. Lions don’t like heat and hide in thickets during the day, so chances of finding them are highest right after sunrise. Other animals you’ll see include Uganda kob, elephant, large herds of buffalo, waterbuck and an interesting selection of grassland birds.
After the game drive, we will make our way to the southern Ishasha sector of the park, which is famous for its tree climbing lions. In the afternoon, we will go to look for the lions on a game drive.

Day 6/ Day 7: Community walk and GORILLA Tracking
Day 6:

In the morning, you go for a walk along Ishasha river. The forests along the shore are home to black-and-white colobus monkey, busbuck and an interesting variety of bird. You’ll get a chance to get exceptionally close to hippo that can frequently be seen in and at the river while remaining perfectly safe on the raised banks of the river.
We will leave the park in the late morning to travel to the gorilla parks in the south. You’ll notice the landscape change and get more mountainous as the climate get colder. In the afternoon, you’ll get a chance to visit the local community. Alternatively you could visit the local Batwa pygmy community, go for a nature walk or take a snake safari on Lake Muhanda (all alternative activities are optional activities and not included in the tour rate. Please let us know if you’re interested in one of these activities and we’ll let you know how much to budget for it) Gorilla,Rod Waddington

Day 7:
Today you will hike in dense rainforest and see the mountain gorillas. This is a unique opportunity as there are less than 900 individuals left worldwide. Each group of visitors gets a habituated gorilla group assigned to. The duration of your hike then depends on where in the forest ‘your’ gorilla group happens to be on that day. After having found the gorillas, you get to spend one hour watching the gorillas from a short distance of a few meters. Being eye to eye with a gorilla is a very special and nerve tingling experience.

Day 8: Lake Bunyonyi

In the morning we will leave for Lake Bunyonyi, a picturesque lake with 20 islands that stretches over 25 km in a landscape of rolling mountains. You will spend the day exploring the lake

by paddling and swimming in it and by hiking to a higher point to enjoy the view. Lake Bunyonyi is one of the few water bodies in Uganda that has neither bilharzia nor any hippos or crocodiles and therefore is safe for swimming.

Day 9/ Day 10: Lake Mburo National Park
Day 9:
In the morning, we will leave for Lake Mburo National Park. This park is the only one in Uganda, where you’ll get the opportunity to view game on foot, mountain bike and horseback. Animals to be seen here include impala and other antelope species, zebra, buffalo, warthog, hyena and hippo as well as 315 species of bird. After lunch, you will go for a walking safari and get real close to nature while exploring the park on foot.
